My Big Helper!

When William says he's our "big helper", he truly is.

 Calvin's learning how to be a big helper too (o;  Here he is driving the lawn mower (don't worry...it's not running!) .  He loves getting to sit in the big seat (and Dad can only wait till he can actually help a bit with the hours of mowing there is to do around here this time of year).

Well, I officially got one full day of maternity leave before my little guy decided to enter this world. That just means more time with him! I wrote up a little synopsis of how he decided to enter this world...(for those who are interested) (I had told Curtis when I got closer to my due date, I was going to pack my bags for the hospital in the car and start spending the night at his mom's house when he was at work just so I wasn't alone if I went into labor in the middle of the night. Friday night, Feb. 6th was the first night I spent at his mom's...and a good thing it was...) 3:30am: I awoke to a pop...a rather loud one. Sept. 11, 2008 Starting to show... 17 weeks

Curtis was gone at work and I had kept telling myself days before that I needed to start taking belly pictures since I've really felt like I've been showing these last couple days. I set up the camera myself and snapped quite a few until I found one I liked (that I hadn't cut my head off in!). The pictures are taken in the room I'll eventually use for all the baby "stuff". I'm going to keep it as our guest bedroom and just designate 1/2 of it as space for the baby. Right now I have the cradle I found on Craigslist in the bedroom. I fell in love with it after seeing the ad online. It will go in our bedroom in order to have the baby close during the night. It's all wood and I just thought it fit our home perfectly. Scattered Joy

Just yesterday, Calvin and I were talking over the questions on a mailer he received from his "Mailbox Club" regarding creation.  We were talking about how God created us from the dust of the earth.  I could tell he was really thinking about this.  It was hard for his little mind to grasp that Adam was formed from dirt, and that when we die, our bodies return to just the same. A few weeks ago, Grandma Marsha was talking about how her and Bruce had gotten arrangements together for their cremation and had even received their urns to collect their ashes.  I remember talking briefly about spreading ashes and asking her when she wanted her spread.  Although I don't remember him being a part of it, Calvin must have overheard the conversation. This morning, random and out of the blue (Calvin style), Calvin says, "Mom!  I want my joy to be spread in lots of places!"  At first I didn't get it.  He was so excited when he said it, like he had had a sudde...
