April 30th 2009, Still Smiling 2 months, 3 weeks, 6 days

I weighed William on Tuesday at the BABIES clinic in Silverton. He's up to 12lb 4.6oz! Since his 2 month apt on the 8th, he's gained over a pound. Yes, the car seat gets heavier by the day (o: For those who are wondering, a baby gains weight rapidly for the first 3-4 months and then starts to slow down. At the rate he's going, he'd by the size of a seven year old by age one! Good thing God plans out their growth perfectly....It truly is amazing. Apparently William like to stick his tongue out when he smiles. I caught another one of his cute moments in this picture. He's the most smiles and giggles in the morning (as most babies are). He's come to really like bath time and it's been fun to talk to him while giving him a bath and seeing him smile and make his noises while kicking and splashing the water. Curtis made sure to catch a bit on videotape yesterday. And the most exciting news of all....William slept through a 7 hour stretch of sleep the

April 26th, 2009 Loving the outdoors 2 months 3 weeks, 1 day

Both Curtis and I love this time of year when the weather starts getting warmer and everything starts blooming. I get excited about starting my seeds for a garden and getting my hands in the dirt. Although William isn't yet old enough to crawl around and eat a few worms (like I did when I was a kid), doesn't mean he can't enjoy a little fresh air. I've enjoyed including him in our time outside. Just recently I started turning him around in the front pack. He loves it! There's a whole world out there to enjoy! He'll squint his eyes when the wind hits his face and then give a big sigh. I love watching him be so attentive to everything he's seeing for the first time. We also live within walking distance of the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. We've had fun having friends come over to our place and walking there, Hey, we don't have to pay to park that way! We took a fun picture of the three of us in the tulips. Our good friends (and old neighbors)

April 21st, 2009 His expressions 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days

I just love William's facial expressions. He can go from being so happy to crying so hard he get's red in the face. It's pretty amazing! Mom doesn't like it when the tears start to well up...he's a definite tear jerker. The pictures are a progression of his demeanor over a period of not even a minute. I just kept the camera held up while I talked to him and I caught all the changes. He's got a pretty good sized pouty lip that he can push out there (o:

April 16th, 2009 My brother Rags 2 months, 1 week, 5 days

Image
I went back to sleep after Curtis left for work yesterday. I was incredibly tired and William was being squirmy so I put him in bed with me. It wasn't long before he fell asleep. Our dog Rags enjoys jumping up on our bed to get pets from us in the morning. Yesterday, while William and I were falling asleep, Rags decided he wanted to fall asleep with us. He jumped up, layed down, and rested his head on William. I had to get up and get the camera. As you can see, our dogs are adjusting well to their new brother.

April 15th, 2009 William's changes... 2 months 1 week 4 days

It seems as though William changes daily. Here are some of the things I've learned about him recently: He's found his hands over the past couple weeks. He's nawing on his fingers and making himself more "spitty" around the face. It's pretty cute to watch...Dad's just hoping he never attaches to his thumb (o: He started sleeping with his eyes open in little slits...Grandpa Greg says he started it when he came to visit-that William doesn't want to close his eyes for fear he might miss out on some time with his Grandpa. He's become more smiley, especially in the mornings. I love it! He responds well to mommy and daddy's voices. I'm waiting until he's even more consistent with his smiles before I get some family pictures done. When he get's to smiling and is really excited, he opens his mouth wide as if he wants to talk. All that comes out are these cute little squeaky noises.

April 14th, 2009 Continuing to grow... 2 months, 1 week, 3 days

Image
I can hardly believe William is over 2 months old already. We had his 2 month check up last Wednesday and he's already 11lb 2oz and over 23 inches long (he's almost 2 feet!). Dr. Savage says he's following the "tall and skinny" measurements. I put another couple things in the "too small" box that he's outgrown. I use how he fits in the Baby Bjorn and his car seat as my measurements of how much he's grown over the past 2 months. We'll see how he continues to grow! Here are a couple pictures that we've taken over the last week or so. There's one of him and Grandpa, one of me and his two aunties (my sisters), a couple of us on Easter and one of him in all his cute chubby glory!

April 6th, 2009 What a beautiful day! 2 months 2 days

Today we had the nicest weather! We spent some time outside. My family is here for a couple more days until heading home after my Great Aunt's memorial service. Mel took some neat pictures with our daffodils.

April 5th, 2009 Great Great Grandma Evelyn 2 months 1 day

William's Great Great Grandma Evelyn turns 92 on the 6th. We had family together to celebrate her birthday. She's amazing at how she can carry on a conversation and recall all that she does. Her smile, as she looked at me and said "Melissa, I am so happy for you," was so precious. There's a picture of her holding William as well as a family picture-minus my brothers and Mel's hubby Thomas. Later in the evening, William said his bedtime prayers...We're getting a head start on making sure William knows Jesus loves him...(o:

April 4th, 2009 Great Aunt Esther's Memorial 2 months old!

Image
My Great Aunt Esther's memorial service was today. It was an incredible time of sharing the life of an incredible woman with friends and family. There was over 1,500 people at her service! She touched the lives of many. William sported his little "W" sweater that Aunt Lori made for him (yeah, he's finally fitting into it!) along with his "William" blanket his Aunt Melanee gave to him. He got a lot of comments on both. Here are some pictures of his Aunt Melanee, Great Aunt Loralee and second cousin Brenden holding him for the first time, and William sporting both his sweater and his blanket.

April 3rd, 2009 The William Show 1 month, 3 weeks, 6 days

We took a trip to Eugene to visit some of Curtis' friends from when he lived there while growing up. It was a whirlwind of visits but an incredibly fun time getting reaquainted with old friends and of course, showing our son to most for the first time. We stayed with Cory, Lori and the boys. When we walked in the door and set the car seat down Zane came over to look at William and said "He's getting so cute!" When we pulled him out of the car seat he said, "He's even cuter now!" He hadn't seen William since he was only 2 weeks old. His comments were pretty cute. I've included a picture of me and my high school friend Charissa with William, William fast asleep after our dinner being displayed as the table's centerpiece and the group of boys: Uncle cory with cousins Cade and Luke.
