Jan. 21st, 2012 Bit 'o Brotherly love

I happened to catch a few videos of William interacting with his little brother. You can see a bit of how much he adores him...
(I had to chunk up the video into three parts)


He loves to hold Calvin and help burp him...



William knows that Calvin drinks milk, and milk only. The other day, as Curtis poured William a bowl of cereal, he asked him if he wanted milk on it...
W: "No, Dad."
C: "You don't want milk on your cereal? Why not?"
W: "Milk is for babies Dad."
He then had to explain that we drink cow's milk and Calvin drinks Mama's milk.



Here he is sharing one of our singing Christmas cards with Calvin (Thank you Wayne & Sherri-William's still carrying the card around!). He claims Calvin started dancing to the music at the end (o:


Then they had some hang out time on the floor after I changed Calvin's diaper...







William is such a big helper. When Calvin starts crying, he will often go over and start talking to him to help calm him down. Calvin knows his brothers voice and is often soothed when he hears him. Here they are having a chit chat while Calvin is swinging...

Melissa!! The boys are adorable! It looks like William is embracing his job as Big Brother, what a sweetheart! I miss you! We need to get together soon and share our babies with each other. I think Connor is trying to catch up with Calvin. ;) Love you sweet friend.

William's been progressively showing us how he's learning to walk on his own; no mommy or daddy's hands to hold onto. It's pretty cute, cause he'll look at something he wants that's a ways away and just stare like he's thinking about how to get there. Then, he'll just take off and see how far he can get before he falls. I finally captured a few moments on camera...(okay, so I couldn't figure out how to get them right side up. It's not like I shot them sideways!...so sorry)

March 25th, 2009 First SMILE! 1 month, 2 weeks, 4 days

William has given us a few "for real" smiles over the last couple days. Not the ones that come across his face while he's sleeping (from either gas or a dream about his mamma's milk), but the ones that tell us he's starting to focus and respond more to our voices. I was at home alone when he did it for the first time. He fixed his gaze on me while I was talking to him and smiling at him and after he looked like he was thinking about it for awhile, he did it...he smiled! It made me so happy inside and I had no one to share it with-not even a picture to prove it! It's neat how something so little can be something so BIG. Since then he's charmed dad with his smile. I finally caught some on the camera today. He gets all excited and starts moving around a lot so some have some blurry hands in them. His head is a bit cut off as I was taking the pictures myself and didn't realize it until he was done smiling. You can still see how cute he is though

Oct. 6th, 2008 We're having a... 20 weeks 5 days

...BOY!!!!! We were very pleased to see a very healthy little baby on the monitor. He clearly let us see that he was a boy despite the fact that he's facing breech right now. All systems intact, his hands have fingers and his feet have toes, and his little heart was beating about 136bpm. He weighs in at approx 14 ounces so he's already almost hit a 1 pound (they said he measured a little bigger than what was expected for my due date). He was moving around quite a bit and kept putting his hands in front of his face while we were trying to get pictures. Curtis said "This little guy doesn't know he's got the wrong family; we're all mellow." We are so thankful that everything measures out fine and that things are progressing well. We get to go in for our 3-D ultrasound Nov. 21st. Happy Birthday Mel (her birthday is today!), you're gonna be Auntie to a nephew!
