Planting with my boys

 One of the things I look forward to after a really wet spring is gardening.  My hope is that, as often as I've involved the boys in this process, that they too develop of love of the dirt.  And if not, a fascination for how God grows things from a tiny seed is what I hope they see.  They're such a little helpers and I'm thankful I get to share this with them.  I think they enjoy most, the chance to get super muddy and dirty (o;

William's a teenager!!!

Never ceases to amaze me how fast time flies by.  I feel like I write that with every single birthday post.  We've officially got a teenager in the house!  William has grown and matured into such a great young man.  He's a quiet, calm, patient and loyal person who knows how to work hard and is proving quite the thinker/creator.   We rented a tiny home in Hope, ID for a fun get away over the weekend and then he later had Sawyer, Kale and Jacob over for an overnighter to celebrate.  Little Ember decided to run off from the truck the moment we let her out at the tiny house.  William was the first to run after her, through muddy streams and all, until we caught her and brought her back.  We then experienced our first time getting to step onto a frozen lake!  There were multiple people ice fishing which was something I'd never seen before! Feb. 7th, 2009 His Birthday! 0 weeks, 0 days

Well, I officially got one full day of maternity leave before my little guy decided to enter this world. That just means more time with him! I wrote up a little synopsis of how he decided to enter this world...(for those who are interested) (I had told Curtis when I got closer to my due date, I was going to pack my bags for the hospital in the car and start spending the night at his mom's house when he was at work just so I wasn't alone if I went into labor in the middle of the night. Friday night, Feb. 6th was the first night I spent at his mom's...and a good thing it was...) 3:30am: I awoke to a pop...a rather loud one. For some reason I jumped out of bed (probably startled at the sound) and as soon as I stood up, it was clearly obvious what had happened...my water had broken. 3:45am: I called the hospital to get their suggestion on how long they thought I should wait before coming in...then I called Curtis at work and told him he'd better come quickly. 4am: I ...

Sept. 11, 2008 Starting to show... 17 weeks

Curtis was gone at work and I had kept telling myself days before that I needed to start taking belly pictures since I've really felt like I've been showing these last couple days. I set up the camera myself and snapped quite a few until I found one I liked (that I hadn't cut my head off in!). The pictures are taken in the room I'll eventually use for all the baby "stuff". I'm going to keep it as our guest bedroom and just designate 1/2 of it as space for the baby. Right now I have the cradle I found on Craigslist in the bedroom. I fell in love with it after seeing the ad online. It will go in our bedroom in order to have the baby close during the night. It's all wood and I just thought it fit our home perfectly.
