Our "new" home

Our next chapter...We've officially closed and received the keys to our soon to be "new" home.  I say "new" because it's actually pretty old, just new to us.  This house was one of the original 7 houses built in Sublimity in 1910.  We plan to put quite a bit of work into it prior to moving in, but we hope to still maintain a lot of it's original character.

Hip Hooray!  It's OURS!
The kitchen...where the majority of demo will be done.

Now that the easy part is done (gaining ownership), let the hard work begin (construction)!
Here's a look at what it is before we construct, paint and move in:
Laundry room adjacent the kitchen...Again, a lot of demo to be done here.
Master Bath...complete gut to ensue...

Fresh coat of pain and this basement will become a great tv/play room
Master Bedroom.  With some original trim work and craftsman doors, this will only require taking off some painted over wall paper, a fresh coat of drywall and some paint before we can move into it.
Those STRIPES...eeew.  The wall adjacent the kitchen will be minimized, the floor redone and a fresh coat of paint.
Upstairs guest room.
Think future guests would appreciate it if I took down the circus curtain and Raggedy Ann and Andy?
This handrail is the original.  It's WAY too low and sways like a sailboat.  Can you say dangerous?!  Tearing it out and will reconstruct a new wall that's twice this size and a full wall, no slats.
One of the biggest changes I'm looking forward to...This stairwell will be opened up to the kitchen and a baluster will  fill in the opening.  It's gonna make things look a lot more open!
Take away the dark long drapes and this room will stay pretty much true to it's original look.
Upstairs bathroom (we'll have TWO bathrooms!! Eeek!)
We'll move the doorway to where the current shower stall is, do a complete gut and put in a shower/tub combo.

Must've been a closet at one point, but well manage to turn it into an office space.
The boy's bedroom
Fresh paint and new curtains...it'll be perfect.
Guest room.
Pain and we're good.  Come on over!
My sweet little family in front of a house that'll soon hold a lot of new memories.
Ready or not, here we go.
