Nov. 9th, 2011 First time brotherly love...

What a blessed 30th birthday this is for me. I get to share it with all three of my boys together...Curtis, William AND Calvin. We held off on William meeting Calvin the day he was born due to a puking episode William decided to have at Grandma's house after we made it to the hospital in labor...Turns out, it was likely just his nerves, but we had to be cautious. He was running around like his normal self later that day and so he got to come meet his new baby brother along with the rest of his cousins.

He wasn't too sure at first. The video we took is a little long to upload to blogger, but he clung to Curtis as he approached me and Calvin for the first time. He didn't say much and just kept asking Curtis to hold him (of which he was). Then Calvin started crying and William clung to Curtis even tighter. We got some family pics sitting on the hospital bed and I had Dad take Calvin while I held William...You can see how he's still unsure of the whole thing. He nervously reached for Curtis the whole time we were sitting there...

Here I think he's even pinching Curtis' forehead!

Here they are (minus Curtis' brother Cory who was working and couldn't be there): All the Gant boys. Between Curtis and his brother, Calvin makes up the 5th Gant cousin (o: No pink for this family!


And they're ALL boy!...(don't worry, Calvin isn't amidst this bunch...yet)


Once the cousins left and it was just William, Calvin and I sitting on the couch, he started to get interested in this new little being we were calling his baby brother. He started touching his fingers and pointing out that he had toes. He was warming up to the idea...





I just sat there with both my boys in awe. I had "children"...God has given me two sons and I am so very grateful that I can am their Mommy. Never did I imagine I'd be this blessed.

Jan. 25th, 2010 Not long before he'll be running!

William's been progressively showing us how he's learning to walk on his own; no mommy or daddy's hands to hold onto. It's pretty cute, cause he'll look at something he wants that's a ways away and just stare like he's thinking about how to get there. Then, he'll just take off and see how far he can get before he falls. I finally captured a few moments on camera...(okay, so I couldn't figure out how to get them right side up. It's not like I shot them sideways!...so sorry)

March 25th, 2009 First SMILE! 1 month, 2 weeks, 4 days

William has given us a few "for real" smiles over the last couple days. Not the ones that come across his face while he's sleeping (from either gas or a dream about his mamma's milk), but the ones that tell us he's starting to focus and respond more to our voices. I was at home alone when he did it for the first time. He fixed his gaze on me while I was talking to him and smiling at him and after he looked like he was thinking about it for awhile, he did it...he smiled! It made me so happy inside and I had no one to share it with-not even a picture to prove it! It's neat how something so little can be something so BIG. Since then he's charmed dad with his smile. I finally caught some on the camera today. He gets all excited and starts moving around a lot so some have some blurry hands in them. His head is a bit cut off as I was taking the pictures myself and didn't realize it until he was done smiling. You can still see how cute he is though

Oct. 6th, 2008 We're having a... 20 weeks 5 days

...BOY!!!!! We were very pleased to see a very healthy little baby on the monitor. He clearly let us see that he was a boy despite the fact that he's facing breech right now. All systems intact, his hands have fingers and his feet have toes, and his little heart was beating about 136bpm. He weighs in at approx 14 ounces so he's already almost hit a 1 pound (they said he measured a little bigger than what was expected for my due date). He was moving around quite a bit and kept putting his hands in front of his face while we were trying to get pictures. Curtis said "This little guy doesn't know he's got the wrong family; we're all mellow." We are so thankful that everything measures out fine and that things are progressing well. We get to go in for our 3-D ultrasound Nov. 21st. Happy Birthday Mel (her birthday is today!), you're gonna be Auntie to a nephew!
