Grandpa Terry's Baptism

 This was a day in history that proves you should never give up praying for those who haven't accepted Jesus yet.  The Christian faith was never something that Curtis or Cory shared with their Dad all growing up and well into their adulthoods.  Curtis, a few years back, took Terry out to lunch and just expressed how he wished they shared a faith in Christ and how it was such a huge thing that separated their lives.  

A few years ago, Cory and Lori had started a study with Cade to discuss baptism and his decision for Christ.  They thought to see if Terry and Loretta wanted to join them and to their surprise, they said yes.  For multiple years, they shared bible study and dinner every Thursday night and just recently, Terry made the decision to be baptized.  What an amazingly beautiful thing to witness.  

So, we made our way down to Eugene just before Christmas to all be there to watch him confess Christ as Lord of his life and be baptized.  It brought tears to my eyes as I was just so grateful for God's work in and through Terry.  I am so thankful for the time Cory and Lori get to spend with him and Loretta in bible study.  Loretta felt that she had made the confession as a child and so didn't need to get baptized.  It truly was special being there and witnessing it.  And such a great testimony for our boys to see too.

To celebrate, we all went out to Putters for pizza and mini golf (o;

Multiple people have asked me about the uncomfortabilities of being pregnant. I figured it would make a good post... I can't say I've gotten very big. So far I've only gained 18 pounds and my belly hasn't popped out there a whole lot until really this past month. The pictures of my belly are finally starting to catch up with how I feel I look. May 27th, 2010 Growing like a seed

I'm heavy into gardening...Many afternoons spent outside, digging in the dirt, planting. I absolutely love it. There's something about the joy that I get when I push a tiny seed into the ground and later get to see it push through the soil and become a luscious fruit or vegetable. I went out today to find the first of what will soon become my pumpkin patch. As a reached down to brush away some of the dirt from it's leaves, a tiny little seedling had poked through. God spoke to me at that moment. There are so many correlations to God's creation and what he speaks to our lives. I thought of my son. How he is just like that little seedling. The tiny green leaves don't reveal yet what the plant will become. Only the gardener knows what seed was planted. My little William has sprouted. He's pushed through the soil. Jan. 12th, 2012 Potty Training

We've been working with William on potty training. We started seriously thinking about it this past Summer, when he could run around naked outside and watch himself pee (in the grass and not all over the house!). He caught on pretty quickly (to the peeing part that is) and had fun picking different objects to pee on (trees, rocks, leaves...fortunately not the dogs). Then, I decided we weren't gonna push the issue until after brother was born. I'd heard all kinds of people tell me that he would likely just regress, so I figured we'd at least introduce the whole concept and pick back up after Calvin was born. Sportin' the birthday suit while we practiced outside...I'm sure the pool had plenty of pee in it too. We told William that babies like Calvin wore diapers and that he wasn't a baby anymore.
