April 15th, 2009 William's changes... 2 months 1 week 4 days

It seems as though William changes daily. Here are some of the things I've learned about him recently:

He's found his hands over the past couple weeks. He's nawing on his fingers and making himself more "spitty" around the face. It's pretty cute to watch...Dad's just hoping he never attaches to his thumb (o:

He started sleeping with his eyes open in little slits...Grandpa Greg says he started it when he came to visit-that William doesn't want to close his eyes for fear he might miss out on some time with his Grandpa.

He's become more smiley, especially in the mornings. I love it! He responds well to mommy and daddy's voices. I'm waiting until he's even more consistent with his smiles before I get some family pictures done.

When he get's to smiling and is really excited, he opens his mouth wide as if he wants to talk. All that comes out are these cute little squeaky noises.

Jan. 10th, 2009 What it's like being pregnant... 34 weeks 1 day

Multiple people have asked me about the uncomfortabilities of being pregnant. I figured it would make a good post... I can't say I've gotten very big. So far I've only gained 18 pounds and my belly hasn't popped out there a whole lot until really this past month. The pictures of my belly are finally starting to catch up with how I feel I look. It's crazy how fast this kid can grow now that he's got limited time left in the cooker! Along with the growing belly comes the unpleasant symptoms of pregnancy: -Of course those first 3 months weren't anything too exciting. I was overjoyed that I was pregnant (after waiting for quite some time) but could barely stand getting up in the morning. May 27th, 2010 Growing like a seed

I'm heavy into gardening...Many afternoons spent outside, digging in the dirt, planting. I absolutely love it. There's something about the joy that I get when I push a tiny seed into the ground and later get to see it push through the soil and become a luscious fruit or vegetable. I went out today to find the first of what will soon become my pumpkin patch. As a reached down to brush away some of the dirt from it's leaves, a tiny little seedling had poked through. God spoke to me at that moment. There are so many correlations to God's creation and what he speaks to our lives. I thought of my son. How he is just like that little seedling. The tiny green leaves don't reveal yet what the plant will become. Only the gardener knows what seed was planted. My little William has sprouted. He's pushed through the soil. Jan. 12th, 2012 Potty Training

We've been working with William on potty training. We started seriously thinking about it this past Summer, when he could run around naked outside and watch himself pee (in the grass and not all over the house!). He caught on pretty quickly (to the peeing part that is) and had fun picking different objects to pee on (trees, rocks, leaves...fortunately not the dogs). Then, I decided we weren't gonna push the issue until after brother was born. I'd heard all kinds of people tell me that he would likely just regress, so I figured we'd at least introduce the whole concept and pick back up after Calvin was born. Sportin' the birthday suit while we practiced outside...I'm sure the pool had plenty of pee in it too. We told William that babies like Calvin wore diapers and that he wasn't a baby anymore.
