Happy Father's Day Dad!

Image
Why not copycat Dad's mustache on Father's Day?  What a perfect time to do it!  Curtis, we are incredibly thankful for you.  You have a heart that desires to not just be these boy's Dad but to do it under God's love and authority.  We are forever grateful for your heart.

Notes & Forts

Image
These boys just melt my heart sometimes.  Boys are notorious for not expressing their feelings outwardly as easily as girls but when they write me notes, I get a glimpse into their hearts. The note with the drawings was from Cal and the other note was written by William before I left to CA for Bia's birth.   I also love seeing their "boyness" shine through in the millions of forts they create in random spots of the house.  Here they have a fortress in the basement.  They sleep in them, read (or get read to which is what they like the most) and play all sorts of games.

Time w/ Grandma & Grandpa

Image
We try and steal time in Eugene with Grandpa and Grandma when we can.  We don't get enough, but we enjoy the time when we do.  They're lives are consumed with dialysis during the week which puts Grandpa Terry in a pretty weak/tired state.  When we can get them both out and about, it's a good thing!  Cade was missing in these pictures because he was at camp.

Mothers Day

Mothers Day...A day that reminds me of just how thankful I am that God granted me the privilege of being a Mom.  And what a great Mother-in-Law he gave me!   Soaking up all the little crafts and notes I get from my boys.  I know they won't quite be the same as they get older and I cherish them.

Thu Mud Hole

Image
Since we moved to Sublimity in 2016, William has been on a mission to dig a hole to China...Well, maybe not to China, but he's made it clear that it's gonna be deep.  And this kid is digging it all by hand, one little scoop at a time.  Talk about persistence and resilience! It was finally warm enough that the boys decided they wanted to fill their hole with water and go for a swim.  They laid a tarp down in so that it would help fill faster and then it became a boy's haven.  These twofer having the time of their lives.  These are memories I want them to have forever. There were some videos of them dunking themselves in the murky water that for some reason wouldn't upload...gotta go to the external hard drive to check them out (o; Simply hilarious!  They both dunked their heads and swam under the mud, although the video of Calvin's hesitation made me laugh out loud.

Joshua 1:9

Both boys passed the last level of swim lessons in February and were gifted a free month of swim team so we decided to try it.  Both Curtis an I had our doubts that Calvin had actually fulfilled all of the requirements for the team, but couldn't hurt to try. They both seemed eager as they put on their trunks and we headed out the door.  Once in the door, it was an entirely different story.  The instructor was going to have them get in the pool and perform different swimming techniques to see what they could do.  Calvin started to jump up and follow her until he caught eye of William's hesitancy.  He wasn't going to go without his brother, so he sat back down. There's a bond between these two that truly is something special.  Of course they fight occasionally like all brothers do, but they also gel together in a lot of areas.  Part of what makes parenting them a joy.  Unfortunately, they can also feed off of each other's weaknesses.  Calvi...
